  • Bird Country


    The Bird Country remote, impoverished nation but it is making strides to improves. It was once led by Daimyou Oowashi but he suddenly died of an illness. He was replaced by his daughter Toki. The country itself shares borders with Wind, Earth, & Rain countries. The country appears to resemble most of the other countries, with forests, hills & streams dotting the landscape. The country is also home to a many species of bird, giving rise to the country name. It does not appear to be currently allied with any countries, though country administrators have come to request their help. The Bird Country also maintains no standing ninja army, but guardsmen trained in the shinobi arts work under the leadership of the Daimyou's chief strategist Koumei.

    Not much is known about this country. It is apparently a small nation that has had testy relations with Fang Country.

    The Demon Country was home to the spirit Mouryou, a spirit which grew out of the evil of men & the dark side of the country's shrine maiden. The shrine maiden had the duty to seal away Mouryou & keep his evil spirit contained. The country was allied with the Fire Country, hiring it's ninja for protection.

    Not much is known about Honey Country. Lady Kayo, a representative from the country has had dealings with the Red Bean Country. When she & her party went missing in the Neck Country, ninja from Konoha were dispatched to find her.

  • Forest Country


    Not much is known about Forest Country. Shinobazu, a criminal group made up of disenfranchised ninja carried out criminal acts in the country. When one of their members Gantetsu was captured, he was sent to the country capital to be tried. From the Fire Country, the country is only accessible through a river. The country is on friendly terms with Fire & uses the services of it's ninja villages.

    Not much is known about Marsh Country. It appears to be allied with Fire Country, hiring it's ninjas for protection on trips. Anko was charged with protecting the Daimyou on one such trip.

  • Moon Country


    The Moon Country is located in a southern sea & includes Crescent Moon Island. The country draws it's name from the shape of the island itself. Due to it's location, the country experiences mild weather & a constant summer state. This helped it become a popular tourist retreat along with it's entertainment & gambling establishments. At one point, the country hired wandering ninja; however it currently maintains no ninja village. A ninja has been shown to wear a headband bearing a crescent moon, but no direct connection to this island has been made as of yet.

  • Neck Country


    Not much is known about Neck Country. Kubisaki Kouza ruled over the Neck Country approximately fifty years before the series start. Teh country probably draws from the 'kubi' kanji in his name, meaning neck. 'Shu' is another reading for this kanji. His coun try was besieged & his citizens wiped out by an enemy army. He retreated to his castle & summoned a gigantic lizard after his death. The lizard took on the form of his castle & ate anyone who came inside. After many years, Kouza's spirit returned to guide Naruto, Kiba & Hinata to his summoning contract to destroy it, which would finally let the animal return from whence it came. With the castle gone, little is left of the former country.

    Not much is known about the Red Bean Jam Country. Lady Kayo, a representative from the Honey Country, has had dealings with them. When she traveled to the country & went missing along the way, Red Bean sought help from Konoha to help locate her.

    The River Country lies between the two main shinobi powers, the Fire & Wind Countries. To the north, the country is bordered by the Rain Country. The country is marked by forests, mountains & rivers. Akatsuki chose to make the country one of their bases of operations. They took Gaara here after they defeated him in Hidden Sand.

  • Sea Country


    The sea country lives off the southern coast of Tea Country. The Sea Country consists of several islands, Haha the main island, Kikai & Taro. Another island, Jiro, may also fall under it's purview. Because the country is an island nation, it relies on the Water Country & it's Mist ninja for protection. It sends weekly gold shipments as payment for this protection. The country is not against help from other nations such as Fire. Being an island nation, fishing is one of it's cheif operations. Unfortunately, Kikai has long been a cursed island. Orochimaru established a laboratory there & began kidnapping citizens; this did not help it's reputaion. Orochimaru later abandoned the base & it was later destroyed.

    The Stone Country is named because craggy desert & wasteland regions. The country is similar in name to the Earth Country & it's Village Hidden In The Rock, however the kanji used is different.

    The Tea Country is a peninsula marked by forests, mountains & fishing villages along it's coast. The country itself may also include the Ou'zu & Nagai islands, but this is uncomfirmed. It shares one border with the Fire Country & maintains good ties with it's ninja villages because it maintains no ninja village of it's own.

    The Vegetable Country is an apparently landlocked country. It may share a border with Fire Country & it maintains good ties with their ninja village as it has no ninja village of it's own. However, the loyal soldiers of the country leader are trained in the ninja arts. The country is marked by forests, mountains & fields of flowers. These flowers & & the other country plants are used by the soldiers in their ninpou.

  • Wave Country


    Wave Country is a small island nation which was once under the hard rule of the shipping baron Gato. Located off the coast of Fire Country, the islands became impoverished because of the strong grip Gato had over the shipping & transportation in the region. He ruled through fear, anyone who had dare stand in his way he had murdered as a warning. When Gato was finally killed, Tazuna the bridge builder was able to finish his bridge & connect the country to the mainland. Thus the bridge allowed the country to become prosperous once again.

    Not much is known about Whirlpool Country. Uzumaki Kushina was a kunoichi who hailed from this country. It was unclear if she was a ninja from a village located in this country or elsewhere. The current status of Whirlpool Country is also unclear, as it has been referred to in past tense.
